Short Term Study

Short term studies take two forms here at Calvary.

First, we offer year long classes that begin in September and end some time in April or May. These have included courses such as:

DISCIPLE Bible Study is a 34 week study of the Old and New Testaments for the purpose of transformation, not just information. Year long Disciple curriculum features five unique parts that focus on various aspects of the Bible. Click the logo to see a more detailed description of each study offered through Cokesbury.

Christian Believer is a class in the basic 30 beliefs of the Christian Faith. Similar to Disciple, Christian Believer also ties in historical writings that pertain to the belief discussed each week.

Companions in Christ is a journey in spiritual practices. This class lasts 28 weeks and gives group members a deeper look at what a community of faith is meant to be. Companions requires a unique commitment to group study which includes the willingness to be open and honest about one's faith walk.

The second format for short term study here at Calvary are classes that last one semester. Courses offered that fit this format include:

The Disciple Invitation Series allows study groups to dig into the scriptures in the same way they do through traditional Disciple courses. But the benefit of these studies is they only last 10-15 weeks.

The Beth Moore Study Series features video segments, group discussions and new, insightful ways to look at the scriptures. These studies also last about 10-15 weeks. In recent years we have offered the following studies: Daniel, Get Out of That Pit, Breaking Free, Living Free and Here And Now, There and Then.

We try to offer a variety of studies each year that will appeal to people in all stages of life. We even offer child care for moms and dads who want to study God's word. When you sign up for one of our classes, please let us know that you will be in need of child care so we can make the appropriate arrangements before the class begins.
