Growing as Disciples Together

Service at Church

The leadership at Calvary is diverse and talented. A list of current officers is included here. Volunteers

Calvary has many opportunities for service, and they come in an interrelated network of witness, worship, education and outreach.

Witness

Our witness opportunities range from our bread ministry to the float in the annual fireman's parade. However we ask each of us to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with  someone. For more information please e-mail Rev B. Failes Jr.
Here is our Annual Lawn Party held the Saturday after Labor Day in September!

Worship
Worship is the central emphasis of our congregation. The gathered people sharing in praise, prayer, scripture, word, and sacraments (baptism and Lord's Supper)  builds us into one community.  There are opportunities to assist in worship from ushers to communion servers.  For more information please e-mail Rev. B. Failes Jr.

Rev. B. leads children in worship.

Education
Education helps our church people grow.  Through Sunday School and other classes, we encourage people to transform their life through information. You can serve through teaching, helping, organizing, and by participating. All workers with children and youth must pass our Child Protection Class and be a church member for at least 6 months. For more information please e-mail Jan Failes.

Outreach
Our outreach is local, national and global. There are opportunities to serve in all of these areas.  You can go as a short-term missionary, work in our food pantry, or help out with one of our shut-ins. For more information please e-mail Kristin Holbrook

We built a new deck for these sisters in Fishersville.

You can help by going on a "Volunteers In Mission" team. Information on all Virginia Teams is available at: UMVIM

Our church reaches out to people with the Good News, gathers to worship God,  learns about God as revealed in Jesus Christ, and then sends people out in the world to make a difference and share the Good news. We ask each person in our church to use their spiritual gift to help in some part of this!
